Joe Dale Gillispie is best remembered for his servant’s heart and love for his community, family, and friends. He was
extremely passionate about his job at Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District working as the Grounds Supervisor for 16 years. He established his landscaping company, All Seasons Property Care, Inc., in 1990, and for 32 years his family has continued serving the Lubbock community’s landscape needs. He served as Chaplain, Board member, and firefighter for the Woodrow Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.

His incredible work ethic and community service will always be remembered. The Gillispie family wishes to honor him through the Joe Dale Gillispie Memorial Scholarship, available to Lubbock-Cooper ISD seniors who will be attending a college, university, or technical/trade school who wish to pursue a career as a first responder, in agriculture, and/or in
landscape design/architecture. These are three areas that Joe was very passionate about and excelled in his service. Joe embodied the qualities of hard work, perseverance, and a servant’s heart in all he did. His family would like to honor a Pirate who embodies these same qualities and takes pride in their schoolwork and pride in their Pirate community. This scholarship is meant to assist them in furthering their education to positively impact their own lives and the lives of those around them.

Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, community service, citizenship, sponsor recommendation, and
personal essay.
