Tami Gunset is a cherished member of the Lubbock-Cooper family who impacted the lives of hundreds of students and fellow educators during her time on Earth.
During her educational career (including almost two decades as a loyal Pirate), she served as an assistant coach, head coach, teacher, assistant principal, principal, and girls athletics coordinator
Education wasn't Tami's job; it was her life. When she wasn’t spending countless hours serving the staff and student body of Lubbock-Cooper Middle School, she was coordinating schedules for her own children, Bradley and Addison, shuffling them to countless activities and cheering them on with great pride.
She was a supporter of children - her own and everyone else's. Tami was incredibly focused and driven but also faithful, tender-hearted, kind, and compassionate. She displayed the utmost integrity and could always be counted on to “do the right thing,” her personal mantra. She was the very definition of a servant leader.
Tami was both incredibly loved and incredibly loving, and her friends and family hope to carry on her legacy through the Tami Gunset Memorial Scholarship, reserved for graduating LCISD seniors who were either directly impacted by Tami, or who wish to pursue a future in education, school leadership, or coaching.
